Nordstrom’s Holiday 2023 campaign evokes feelings of treasured memories and the nostalgic warmth of the season – newly reinterpreted with bold color and dynamic, surprising combinations. I created familiar yet different interpretations of classic holiday decor, like holiday villages, wreaths, snowflakes, stars in the night sky, and flickering candles. Design in retail offers so many different touch points, so I scaled them for both large and small placements throughout our stores. The effect gave a sense of warmth and familiarity, with a little surprise.

Execution

As part of the design team, I was responsible for the creation of all 2-D graphics, as well as design support for environmental pieces. This included using company provided assets, creating complimentary assets to be used across environmental pieces, designing paper pieces folded into structures, gifting signage, glass and window clings, store exteriors, and so much more. The results were cozy and sentimental, familiar yet new, retro yet contemporary.
