New York Celebrates Black-Owned Businesses
Nordstrom’s goal is to give an extended platform to Black individuals and brands. We want to show our commitment to creating a more inclusive world by celebrating Black voices through organic storytelling and curating a diverse Black-owned assortment—so our employees, customers and brand partners feel reflected at Nordstrom.
I designed this shop for the New York’s store corner shop, on Broadway and 57th. It was an opportunity to show Nordstrom’s commitment to inclusive retail in a highly visible location. The shop was curated in partnership with the Fifteen Percent Pledge.
Renderings
This project was for a very specific location, so I could fine tune graphics for each placement. The architectural layouts were created by my teammate Gobi Kla-Vonan who was onsite in New York.
Execution
Because we had boots on the ground and specific measurements, the execution turned out a lot like we envisioned. The finished experience was very clean and exciting, with bold colors and large shapes carried throughout the length of the shop.
